2014 Col d'Orcia Nearco

$36.00

A certified organic estate in Tuscany, Col d’Orcia is committed to the integrity of their land and wine. The estate name translated means ‘the hill overlooking the Orcia River’, which allows for ideal growing conditions including plenty of sunshine. Their quality in winemaking is reflective in the Nearco that delivers a surprisingly pleasant unexpected palate created from a blend of 50% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Syrah. A truly complex palate, there are notes of spice, vanilla oak and red fruit notes, delicately balanced with tight tannins and luscious body. A wine this remarkable deserves a hearty steak.

Sant'Antimo

Sant'Antimo is the village near the hill of Montalcino, in Tuscany. Montalcino is famous for the great wines of Brunello, but Montalcino also grows incredible Bordeaux varieties, and some Syrah. The Sant'Antimo appellation covers wines made from grapes other than Brunello (the local name for Sangiovese). Often, the wines from this appellation are made from Cabernet Sauvignon, but they are also blended with Merlot and Syrah.
