“Selection De Grains Nobles” refers to the highest quality dessert wine produced in Alsace. The growing conditions must be so perfect to induce the growth of “noble rot” in the grapes, which thanks to the arid climate and protection of the Vosges Mountains, does not appear very easily in every year (or even most years) making this a highly prized and sought-after wine style. The grapes are hand-picked and inspected berry-by-berry to ensure only the botrytis-infected grapes are used. This wine shows a perfect balance of structure and acidity making it a great candidate for aging.
