2007 Feudi Piano di Montevergine Taurasi

Feudi Di San Gregorio epitomizes southern Italian wine culture; promoting grape varieties native to this region. Classic Aglianico sees almost 4 years of aging prior to release. The result is a lovely expression of dark fruit: blackberry, plum, and sour black cherry. The taste is velvety and soft with a mineral backbone supported by fine tannins

Taurasi is one of the great red wines from southern Italy, within the region of Campania. It is made from the indigenous Aglianico grape. These wines have an almost Zinfandel-like character, with intense spice, dried fruits, and impressive concentration. They are typically aged in larger wood, to tame some of their power, and they rank among the most ageworthy wines in Italy.
