2011 Schloss Reinhartshausen Hattenheim Wisselbrunn Auslese

$56.00

Riesling is a grape that truly reflects the essence of its terroir and Germany is the grape's ancestral home. It's a perfect food wine and good bottlings consistently improve with bottle age. Schloss Reinhartshausen has been producing some of the world's best examples of Riesling grown in its native land for over 680 years. The 18 hectare Wisselbrunnen vineyard is a prime site in Hattenheim. Fresh citrus, honeydew rind, and a juicy palate bursting with ripe fruit and good acidity is the ideal expression of Riesling that we'd drink tonight and for years to come.

Rheingau

The Rheingau is further south in Germany than the Mosel, situated on the Rhein river. This region is famous for its dry Riesling wines from Erstes Gewachs, or grand cru, vineyards. There are also amazing Rieslings which are off-dry to fruity, as well as some stellar Pinot Noir.
