Jean-Pierre Moueix established his famed Bordeaux “negociant” firm in 1937. Negociants traditionally bought grapes or vinified wine and bottled and sold it under their own name. Jean-Pierre’s son Christian expanded the family holdings with the acquisition of Château La Grave in 1971. Located on the right bank of the Dordogne, it is one of the top estates of Pomerol. Predominantly Merlot with a touch of Cabernet Franc, full of fresh cherry and currant aromas, a smooth and silky palate with round tannins.
