Vougeot
Vougeot is a village in Burgundy’s Côtes de Nuits which is most famous for the grand cru Clos Vougeot. This Clos houses the famous Abbaye de Vougeot, where much of the original winemaking in Burgundy began. The wines of the Clos are characterized by power and richness, but carry a distinct and compelling candied fruit element. Outside of the Clos, one can find the incredible village and premier cru wines that show a bit more elegance than the wines of the Clos, and can sometimes be compared to Chambolle-Musigny.
