The Darnat family has been in the business of making wine and growing grapes since the 19th century. Henri Darnat took over in 1985 and continues to practice sustainable growing practices that allow a pure expression of the terroir in their care. The terroir of Clos Richemont is very close to that of Montrachet. The wine is aged in 80% new French oak for 12 months, followed by an additional 6 months in stainless steel tanks. A structured wine with lively minerality and a long, pleasing finish, it is often mistaken for a Puligny-Montrachet Grand Cru.
