2013 Dom. Antonin Guyon Aloxe Corton 1Er Cru Fourniéres

$90.00

Lauded as one of the most prestigious estates in the Côte d’Or, this is also one of the largest family-owned wineries in the region. Founded in the 1960's by Antonin Guyon, his sons Dominique and Michel now manage the 47 hectares of land across 15 different appellations. The Fourniéres vineyard is named for an ancient forge near the village of Aloxe-Corton. This 100% Pinot Noir is aged for 18 months in 33% new French oak barrels. The result is a deep ruby red wine with red fruit aromas. A rich mouthfeel leads to a long, well-balanced finish. This wine can be aged for up to 15 years.

Aloxe-Corton

Aloxe-Corton in Burgundy's Cote de Beaune is where the great hill of Corton is located. In Aloxe, excellent village level and premier cru wines are made from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Like their grand cru relatives in Corton, these wines have power and richness, but they are also highly accessible in their youth.
