Grand Cru classified wines represent the best of the best in the Burgundy Region, Chevalier-Montrachet is no exception. With average yields of 290 gallons/acre (vs. 360/acre of their “village” wine counterparts) these wines are exceptionally concentrated and flavorful. 100% new oak aging further enhances its depth and complexity. More mineral and austere when consumed young, patience is rewarded after 10-15 years when it blossoms into a perfect balance of pears and apple compote, truffle honey, and wet stones.
