One of the best 1er Cru sites in the Pommard appellation, "Rugiens" has applied for Grand Cru status. Capable of aging for 5-15 years or more in exceptional years, this wine requires patience. Early on, the wine is energetic with concentrated cherry and raspberry flavors. With time, the flavors develop into pepper, licorice, and herbal eucalyptus with perfectly soft tannins.
