2014 Los Vascos Grande Réserve Cabernet Sauvignon

$19.00

In 1988 Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite) purchased Los Vascos, the first French viticulture investment in modern Chile. Located in the Colchagua Valley, a perfect microclimate for high quality grape-growing: intense sun, adequate water, semi-arid soils and little risk of frost, all 25 miles from the sea. Aged for 12 months in 20% new French oak, the wine is structured with firm yet elegant tannins, powerful and expressive yet balanced with beautiful freshness.

Colchagua Valley

Colchagua Valley is located within Chile's Central Valley, and is best know for high quality Cabernet Sauvignon and other red wines. The microclimate is impacted by the warm ripening conditions from the valley, combined with a convection affect that brings cool air from the Andes. This serves to moderate the temperatures and bring balance to the wines.
