2014 Tenute Lunelli Aliotto

Tenute Lunelli is the result of multiple generations of the Lunelli family creating together a vision built on their winemaking roots. Three estates cover three different regions within Italy: Trentino, Tuscany, and Umbria, combining agriculture, high quality of life and a sense of beauty. These characteristics show through in each and every wine. Aliotto is a blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet, and Merlot from their Tuscany estate, the first wine from Lunelli Estates to be certified organic. A nose of brandied cherries and herbal tones develop into a well structured yet velvety wine with a round finish.

ABV % = 13

Tuscany is one of Italy's most recognized and beloved wine regions, and the red Sangiovese grape rules here. Within Tuscany, great Sangiovese-based wines can be found in a diversity of styles from Chianti, Chianti Classico, Rosso di Montalcino, Brunello di Montalcino, Morellino di Scansano, Carmignano, and Vino Nobile di Montapulciano. It is also here where the great "Super Tuscans" were started, in the area of Bolgheri. These tend to be comprised of Sangiovese blended with international varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Syrah. Tuscany is also home to great white wines such as Vernaccia di San Gimignano, and sweet wines called Vin Santo.
