2015 Los Vascos Carmenère Grande Reserve

$19.00

The Carménère grape originated in Bordeaux but has almost disappeared in France. Originally mistaken for Merlot, it is now a flagship grape in Chile. It shares several flavor profile characteristics with Merlot: supple red and black berries and herbaceous notes of green and black peppercorns. A mix of ripe fruit and spice makes this a wonderful compliment to Chilean cuisine.

Colchagua Valley

Colchagua Valley is located within Chile's Central Valley, and is best know for high quality Cabernet Sauvignon and other red wines. The microclimate is impacted by the warm ripening conditions from the valley, combined with a convection affect that brings cool air from the Andes. This serves to moderate the temperatures and bring balance to the wines.
