Chianti Classico Tenuta Sant’Alfonso is one of the winery’s most well-established wines and one of the two prestigious crus produced today with 100% Sangiovese grapes cultivated exclusively on the Sant’Alfonso estate. Using specific clones of Sangiovese in clay-rich and gravel-less soils, the winery discovered that the grapes would develop and mature with a higher concentration of polyphenols and aromatic substances.

Chianti is a large region in Tuscany which slowly grew around the area which is now Chianti Classico. Over the centuries the region expanded to accommodate demand for this heralded wine. Today the Chianti region is broken down to Chianti, and the smaller Chianti Classico. Chianti wines, made predominately from Sangiovese, offer a combination of bright fruit and earthiness that make them perfect for everyday drinking.
