2016 Bottega Vinaia Pinot Noir

Bottega Vinaia produces an exceptional line of artisan wines that reflect the authentic qualities of the Trentino terroir. The combination of refinement in barriques and large oak casks produces a ruby red wine with hints of sour cherry, cooked plum, spices and tobacco. On the palate, this Pinot Noir is velvety and harmonious, and evolves in roundness, fullness and complexity as it ages.

ABV % = 13

Northern Italy's Trentino region is located in the foothills of the Dolomite Alps, along the Adige River. Most of the grapes are grown on the eastern and western slopes, which form the valley along the Adige. The area is famous for whites from Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc, as well as reds from Pinot Noir, Lagrein, and Teroldego. Most of the region makes dry still wines, but it is acclaimed for some of the best traditional method sparkling wine in the world, made under the TrentoDOC appellation from Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir.
