Pinot Grigio was born in Burgundy, France as “Pinot Gris” but found its way to Switzerland in the 1300s where is was a favorite of the Emperor. From there, the grape crossed the border in to Italy and is one of the widely planted grapes of northeastern Italy. This bottle by Conte Brandolini is a perfect expression of the grape, light and fruity with subtle scents of acacia flowers and apple; full-bodied yet balanced with a lively finish.
