The 2019 vintage in the Southern Rhône was quite perfect for Grenache, leading to ripe and rich flavor profiles along with perfectly balanced acidity and tannin structures. The Cuvée Prestige from Jean Royer, based in 80% Grenache and backed by 20% Mourvèdre. Aromatics blooming of raspberries, orange peel, black tea, and loamy soil. On the palate the wine is oh so elegant with just ripe blackberries, hoisin, sage, finishing with the perfect amount of dusty tannins. This wine will drink well now and on for the next 15+ years!
