Central Valley

The Central Valley in Chile, located just outside the city of Santiago, towards the foothills of the Andes, is where the famous regions of Maipo, Maule, Curico, and Rapel are located. Growing conditions can be compared to those in Napa and Sonoma, CA; the primary grapes here are the classic red and white Bordeaux and Burgundy varieties. The wines vary in style, ranging from soft, easy drinking and approachable, all the way to the grand cru-styled - bold, powerful and nuanced. By far the most dynamic of all the regions in Chile, the Central Valley is home to many of Chile's most famous and innovative estates.
