2018 Didier Dagueneau Blanc etc...

$95.00

Blanc Etc. is the most accessible and early-drinking of Didier Dagueneau's wines and the only non-soil or vineyard-specific expression, being a blend of fruit from four different sites. Previously called Blanc de Pouilly Fumé, winemaker Louis-Benjamin Dagueneau had an ongoing beef with local authorities that resulted in him completely withdrawing from the appellation system. Now a Vin de France wine, fermentation takes place in a mix of new and old barrels and then the wine is matured in both oak and steel. The result is an extraordinary Sauvignon Blanc that is vibrant, stunningly-expressive wine, racy and pure with some leesy creaminess.

Vin de France

This appellation broadly covers wines from the Languedoc and Roussillon regions in the South of France that do not fall under more specific designations. It encompasses a diverse style of wines, from light whites to full-bodied reds, and everything in between. Bordeaux and Rhone varieties are popular here, as single varietals or blends.
