Domaine Grégoire Hoppenot has done an amazing job at showcasing the nuance of Fleurie and Morgon, in the Beaujolais region. Their dedication to organic farming, minimal interaction with the wines, and a classic approach, truly showcase the individual vineyard sites so well. The 'Origines' is a Gamay produced from two vineyards sites, typically the younger vines, that are coming into their own. The wine is macerated 10+ days, whole cluster, and left to age in concrete for that wonderful rose petal and violet aromatics. On the palate its peppy lushness is almost quenching and perfect with just about any cuisine you throw at it!
