2020 Castello di Verrazzano Rosso

A true gem tucked away in the rolling hills of Tuscany, Castello di Verrazzano produces a range of classic Tuscan wines. It’s the dedicated passion of owners Luigi and Silvia Cappellini that truly makes this brand shine. The grapes are grown on vineyards surrounded by the Verrazzano property, which act as a protective barrier from pollution, allowing the grapes to maintain freshness. For those seeking a youthful wine, the Rosso vibrantly dances along the nose and palate with notes of red fruit, black currant and plum. This pairs wonderfully with pasta dishes and contemporary cuisine.

ABV % = 13.5

Tuscany is one of Italy's most recognized and beloved wine regions, and the red Sangiovese grape rules here. Within Tuscany, great Sangiovese-based wines can be found in a diversity of styles from Chianti, Chianti Classico, Rosso di Montalcino, Brunello di Montalcino, Morellino di Scansano, Carmignano, and Vino Nobile di Montapulciano. It is also here where the great "Super Tuscans" were started, in the area of Bolgheri. These tend to be comprised of Sangiovese blended with international varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Syrah. Tuscany is also home to great white wines such as Vernaccia di San Gimignano, and sweet wines called Vin Santo.
