La Araucaria is perfectly crafted by winemaker Dolores Cabrera Fernández, known for her truly distinctive wines from the Atlantic Island of Tenerife. The San Antonio Listan Negro vineyard sits at 450 meters in Valle de La Orotava, with vines over 100 years old trained with the unique cordón trenzado (“braided cord”) method. Grapes are hand-harvested and 100% destemmed, with primary fermentation in steel tank followed by malolactic and aging in old Burgundy barrels. All this leads to a wine with a beautiful, vibrant nose that has earth, game, and funk, crunchy red fruits, and a grainy palate. Gamay-like in its structure and excellence.
